Be quiet after class…. Here’s why! ⤵️

After every class we teach here at Hot Spot Yoga, we guide the class of students into a Savasana. (That means a resting pose).
During this time we encourage meditation and calmness.
There’s so many benefits students receive for their mind and body wellness from this final resting pose.

So we ask that everyone be mindful of their peers.
You have NO IDEA what the person next to you is going through in their life, and for many of us, this “Savasana” is the only time for quiet and stillness in the hectic day.

We know that you are so excited to see your friends in class, as are we! We just love to see your smiling faces come through the doors.

We only ask that you respect the silence AFTER class in the YOGA ROOM. (Yes yes this means after Pilates too 😂)
We know after class you are feeling so great & just want to share your happiness! 🥰 BUT
Please just wait until you get into the lobby to have your conversations. 🙏🏼
Letting those who are still taking their mediation and rest enjoy their moment of silence. 🤫

In April of 2010 a cement truck hit Michael head on, traumatically severing his left arm at the shoulder. He discovered this yoga soon after struggling with addiction to pain killers, severe depression and chronic phantom limb pain which is a 7 out of 10 on any given day. Through multiple modalities of therapy he is able to keep his pain manageable, but he says, “The single most effective weapon that I possess, is my daily yoga practice! In my 11+ years of practice, and likely over 2,500 classes, there has never been even one class that I haven’t felt less pain after those glorious 90 minutes then before that class started!”

Meet JJ!
He was first introduced to bikram yoga at age 8! Growing up in his mom’s hot yoga studio.
After a series of injuries as an adult he turned to yoga to relive his pain, practicing daily for more than 7 years before attending training.
He attended teacher Training in 2011, and has been traveling, teaching, and studying yoga around the world ever since.
In 2014, he started participating in the USA & IYSF yoga competitions.
From 2016-20 he was the Colorado State Champion.
He finished in the top 4 nationally 5 years in a row from 2015-19, and 4th internationally in 2016. Participating in these events allowed JJ to have a platform to push his asana practice to new depths. It also created ways to connect with more people and motivation to do more yoga!

In 2019, he completed the 500 hour e84 Teacher Training Diploma Program which takes a minimum of 2 years to complete!!
JJ feels blessed to be able to practice and share yoga on a daily basis with us all! 🙏🏼

Over Flow Parking 🅿️

Yes! You can park on the grass. The grass is public right of way, and property of St. John’s County, paid by our tax dollars as residents here and available for us all to park on.
(All property lines are online to view)
You can park on the grass on our side of the road and across the street.
Street parking is legal too on our road as it’s a 25mph road, as long as you are going with the flow of traffic, and do not block a mailbox or driveway, or park across from an already street parked car (traffic needs to be able to keep flowing).
We have clarified all of this information on the county website and with the sheriffs department.

Do not park next door in the empty parking lot!
Yes, the neighboring business will tow as per their signs they put up.
You can park in the grass, but not the paved lot as it’s their property and they do not want anyone to park there.

We reached out to the property owner of 101 Rio Del Mar (the empty lot) and attempted to work out a deal with the property owner and offered to pay parking rent to use it during their closed hours but they didn’t accept. We have to respect their property, and ask that our clients don’t park in their lot.
